Next upset at the World Cup in Qatar: After FIFA banned the captain’s ribbon with the “One Love” lettering, the Belgian national team is now in the truest sense of the word: the rainbow-colored ribbon attached to the away jerseys “Love” inscription must disappear.

“The word ‘love’ has to go,” says Peter Bossaert, CEO of the Belgian Football Association, as quoted by the media “Nieuwsblad”. That was “sad, but FIFA leaves us no other choice”. The four letters in the rainbow colors seem to annoy FIFA. Just as was the case in the case of the much-cited captain’s armbands Monday seven European nations their waiver. Decisive for the decision was an official threat from FIFA that every player wearing the ribbon would be punished with a yellow card. And now the world football association followed suit and also warned Belgium’s national teams. The World Cup has barely started and is already full of excitement.
