Mathieu van der Poel will enter the field for the first time on Sunday 27 November in the World Cup in Hulst. It is still a week longer to wait for Wout van Aert, but when he returns to Antwerp on December 4, we will immediately get the first duel between the two rivals.

After an internship with their road team in the first half of December, at least 6 more confrontations will follow. From the Exact Cross in Mol (December 23) their program is almost the same.

The two tenors will also be at the start together in Gavere (December 26), Heusden-Zolder (December 27), Diegem (December 28) and Loenhout (December 30).

Van Aert’s program in January is not yet known. It is therefore not certain whether there will be any duels in Herentals, Koksijde and Zonhoven. On February 5, they both have an important appointment together: the World Cup in Hoogerheide.

Cyclocross fans can rub their hands, because it has been a long time since Van Aert and Van der Poel fought so many duels in the field. Last season they barely started together 2 times, the season before that 3 times.
