In Teresópolis, a mountain city located about 100 kilometers from Rio de Janeiroa group of protesters interrupted the traffic on the national highway BR-116allowing only the passage of cars on the shoulder.

One of the protesters, Rodrigo da Silva, said there was a “fraud” in Sunday’s election, in which former President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva narrowly defeated Bolsonaro by less than two points.

“I have a feeling of rage, that we are being robbed,” said De Silva, an accountant by profession, who wore a sticker from the far-right leader’s electoral campaign on his chest.

Another protester, Afonso Davi Bandeira, a businessman, said that throughout Brazil they know that there was “fraud” at the polls and warned that they will not lift the road blockade “as long as things do not change.”
