After another stream of criticism of the military leader from the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, a number of media outlets, citing sources, announced the removal of Lapin from his post. MLRS HIMARS is one of the most important types of weapons and a real symbol of the war in Ukraine. It was thanks to the supply of Western missile systems that the Armed Forces of Ukraine managed to turn the tide of the conflict: effective strikes on the rear of the Russian group disrupted the supply of the Russian Armed Forces and helped the Ukrainian army to recapture vast territories in the Kharkiv region. At the same time, until recently, HIMARS remained a “ghost” weapon on the front: the last pictures of the systems dated from the beginning of July. On October 29, HIMARS hit the photographer’s lens again – this time in the north of the Kherson region, in one of the hottest spots of the war right now.HIMARS has three key advantages over Soviet multiple launch rocket systems: first, the standard missiles for them are GPS homing, making them more accurate than “competitors”; secondly, HIMARS are both more mobile and more securely armored; thirdly, due to the design features, Western systems spend less time recharging.According to the newspaper The New York Times, all the advantages of HIMARS of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were fully used in the Kherson region – Ukrainian artillery in this sector of the front is superior in accuracy and combat power to the Russian one, sources say. The apartment of a pensioner in Bakhmut burned by shells
AFP photographer Dimitar Dilkoff captured the aftermath of an artillery shell hitting a residential building in Bakhmut, specifically the apartment of 63-year-old local resident Lyudmila Kharchenko. In the photo – a fireman is struggling with the consequences of a fire in the room.The pensioner herself miraculously did not become a victim of the blow – during the bombardment, she left the apartment for an hour, going to buy bread. Returning from the store, Lyudmila found ruins at the site of her apartment.Burnt furniture and a surviving portrait of Lyudmila’s relatives are practically all that remains of the pensioner’s apartment.
Volunteers clear rubble in Chernihiv region
Even in those Ukrainian regions from which the Russian army left a few months ago, the liquidation of the consequences of the invasion of the RF Armed Forces is still ongoing. So, on October 29, a group of volunteers gathered in the village of Novoselovka, Chernihiv region, to dismantle the ruins of private houses destroyed by artillery strikes during active hostilities in the region.The work of volunteers in the Chernihiv region is coordinated by the spontaneous organization “Bo Momomo”. Today it unites not only residents of the affected settlements, but also residents of Chernihiv region and other regions of Ukraine in general.Debris clearing is only a part of the support that Bo Momomo activists provide to the residents of Novoselivka and other affected localities in the Chernihiv region. The main task of the organization is to provide people left without a roof over their heads with safe and warm housing for the winter.After clearing the rubble, the Bo Momomo volunteers have lunch at a common table laid right in the courtyard of a private house in Novoselovka.
