In the women’s Superprestige last year, the overall victory went to Lucinda Brand. The Dutch won six of the seven motos and managed to amass 101 points. That was nine more than Denise Betsema and Annemarie Worst, who finished second and third respectively in the final standings.

With 3 victories in a row in the World Cup, Fem van Empel is the woman in shape at the start of the cyclo-cross season, but the Dutch is not at the start in Ruddervoorde.

Lucinda Brand, last year’s winner in West Flanders, is also missing. The European champion broke her metacarpal bone last week and therefore misses the first round of the Superprestige.
