Veracruz will celebrate in several municipalities the traditional ‘Day of the Dead’ especially in the Huasteca area with the Xantolo, a tradition with pre-Hispanic origin, some citizens describe it as the “Christmas of the Huasteca Region”.

They make altars or offerings with different elements of local gastronomy, flowers and seasonal fruits, candles and some are used to musical and cultural festivals of the area.

Municipalities of the Huasteca region of Veracruz have already started this festivity, such as: Tantoyuca and Pueblo Viejo, in which they implemented the use of More expensive as a security measure.

Important festivity that will cause the state governor to celebrate in the municipality of Old Townin the northern area of ​​Veracruz where there are different customs and traditional festivals in which they are usually performed in the pantheon areas.

Citizens appreciate that the government itself encourages Mexican traditions, giving the place and preventing them from being confused with American customs such as Halloween, that is why the Veracruz Tourism Secretariat will encourage the Xantolo festivities.
