The Russian national football team is deprived of playing official matches for the next few years, which is why the RFU has to look for rivals for friendly matches, but even at this level there is nothing to brag about. In September, Valery Karpin’s team played with Kyrgyzstan (2:1), and in November it will play with the national team of Tajikistan. These are uninteresting matches, but besides, they are also completely unproductive. A much more interesting option was proposed by the former goalkeeper of Zenit and the Russian national team Vyacheslav Malafeev, who said that the Russian team could play against the RPL legionnaires’ team. What would be the composition?

Goalkeeper: Ivan (Zenit)

We take Ivan to the national team, since there are simply no other analogues. In addition to the Brazilian, there is not a single goalkeeper in the RPL.

Defense: Douglas Santos, Dejan Lovren (both – Zenit), Willian Rocha, Milan Gajic (both – CSKA).

Douglas Santos often plays in central defence, but the Brazilian performs best on the left touchline, where he can work both in defense and in attack. Lovren was often criticized last season, but this season he rehabilitated himself and, according to rumors, may even earn a new contract.

The right part of the defense will be occupied by CSKA newcomers Rosha and Gajic. The first of them is in the top 5 among all RPL defenders in terms of tackles, interceptions, clearances and other indicators, and Gayich was a great replacement for the departed Mario Fernandez.

Midfield: Christian Noboa (Sochi), Claudinho, Wendel (both Zenit)

The basic position of Claudinho is a left midfielder, but Sergei Semak managed to transform the Brazilian into a cool creative midfielder who also works out in defense. Noboa and Wendel are more classic midfielders, but they also know how to bring results in all parts of the field.

It turns out that in the top three midfielders there is no pronounced defensive midfielder, but each of the selected players knows how to play defensively, so the Russian team will definitely not be easy when crossing the center of the field.

Theoretically, instead of Noboa, you can imagine Wilmar Barrios, but three players from the same club in the national team of foreign players is too much.

Forward: Malcolm (Zenit), Quincy Promes (Spartak), Jesus Medina (CSKA)

Our championship is full of high-quality legionnaires on the edges of the attack, but there are not enough center forwards, which is why our fantasy team will have to experiment with Malcolm at the forefront of the attack. Why not? At the moment, he is the best scorer in the championship with 11 goals and 5 assists in 14 rounds.

Supporting him on the left flank will be another author of 11 goals, Quincy Promes, whose presence in the squad cannot raise questions. On the right will appear not the most hyped, but no less useful Jesus Medina, who, under Fedotov, gave out 5 goals and 4 assists in 14 rounds.

Bench: Eric Bicfalvi (Ural), Rodrigao, Wilmar Barrios, Mateo Cassierra (all – Zenit), Eli Daza, Diego Laxalt (both – Dynamo), Victorien Angban (Sochi), Victor Mozes, Shamar Nicholson (both Spartak), John Cordoba, Eduard Spertsyan (both Krasnodar), Mohamed Konate (Akhmat).
