What a surprise he just gave us henry cavill, since the actor has just announced his departure from ‘The Witcher’ as Geralt de Rivia after the third installment already shot. This supposes the confirmation that the series of Netflix will have season 4, but that news has been overshadowed by the departure of Cavill, who has also taken the opportunity to announce his replacement: Liam Hemsworth.

Cavill and Hemsworth messages

I’m sure I’m not the only one who suspects that the recent announcement that Cavill was returning as Superman has been decisive for his departure from ‘The Witcher’. And it is that the filming of the Netflix series is very long and demanding, so it is most likely that they were incompatible with ‘man of steel 2’. Of course, the actor has not wanted to go into it in the message that he has released to confirm his departure and the arrival of Hemsworth:

My journey as Geralt of Rivia has been full of monsters and adventures, and sadly, I will be leaving my medallion and swords behind in season four. In my place, the fantastic Mr. Liam Hemsworth will take up the mantle of the White Wolf. As with the greatest literary characters, I pass the torch with reverence for my time as Geralt and with excitement to see Liam’s version of this fascinating and nuanced man. Liam, good sir, this character has wonderful depth, he enjoys diving and seeing what he can find.

Personally, I have always been clear that Cavill was the best of ‘The Witcher’ and I do not have much confidence that the series can recover from his departure. Also, Hemsworth’s choice isn’t too excitingWell, it is true that he did not do badly in the saga of ‘The Hunger Games’, but he has never shown himself to play in the same league as Cavill. By the way, he also wanted to comment on what happened with this message:

As a fan of The Witcher, I am delighted to have the opportunity to play Geralt of Rivia. Henry Cavill has been an incredible Geralt, and I am honored that he will hand over the reins to me and allow me to pick up the White Wolf’s blades for the next chapter of his adventure. Henry, I have been a fan of yours for years and have been inspired by what you have brought to this beloved character. I may have some pretty big boots to fill, but I’m really excited to get into the world of The Witcher.

We will have to see how Netflix plays out, but if I had to bet, I would say that in a while the news will come out that ‘The Witcher’ has been canceled and that we will not have season 5.
