You are currently viewing Dog in Duisburg: the owner can’t believe it when she sees THAT – “It’s getting worse and worse”

If you are out and about with your dog, you have to be prepared for critical situations again and again. Whether encounters with other four-legged friends, walkers or residents – again and again there are unsolicited advice or conflict situations.

According to Patricia from Duisburg, she repeatedly experiences the same situation with her two Bernese Mountain Dogs. The dog owner from Duisburg recently had another “special kind of encounter”. Because it’s been “getting worse and worse” lately, she’s now hitting the wall and wants to wash the heads of certain dog owners.

Dog in Duisburg: “Should I kid you?”

They are undoubtedly impressive figures: Patricia’s Bernese Mountain Dogs weigh quite a few kilos. No wonder that one or the other dog owner wishes to keep their distance when they see the powerful four-legged friends. This happened again with the walker who was out and about in Duisburg with her little dog. She shouted from afar that Patricia had to put her loose dogs on a leash.

“She didn’t need to tell me. I would have done the same,” says the Duisburg native. She then called her dog and held her by the collar. But that wasn’t enough for the oncoming woman. She screamed again that the dogs should be fixed closer. “What should I do?” asks Patricia, “Should I be teasing her?” But that’s not the real point that goes against the grain.

Dog owner from Duisburg warns: “Neck broken immediately”

Because her counterpart did not have her much smaller dog under control at all. The four-legged friend was “out of control”. To make matters worse, he was still tied to a flexible line. These are leashes that give dogs more freedom to explore. The keeper did not manage to keep the distance herself.

Patricia grumbles about the “damned flexible lines”. In her opinion, many dog owners feel too safe because their animals are on a leash. “But with a five or ten meter leash you have absolutely no influence on what’s hanging on the leash at the other end,” complains the Duisburg native. From their point of view, tow lines are only worse. “The dogs are running through the woods, pulling this leash behind them. If they get caught somewhere with their collars while running, their necks are broken immediately,” warns Patricia.

In her opinion, dog owners should invest more in training their animals than in their leashes. Then there would be fewer conflicts during walks.
