Jesús Manuel ‘Tecatito’ Corona is at risk of missing the 2022 Qatar World Cup after suffering a ruptured fibula and ligaments in his left ankle.

Corona is rehabilitating in Seville, where he plays with the red club, but for Dr. Rafael Ortega, if his evolution had been treated with the Mexican National Team, he would be in a position to play in the World Cup.

“I think that the medical team of the National Team, with the people who work there and because of the type of injury that he had, I had a lot of faith that he would be able to be there for the start of the World Cup, because the fibula that was fractured It is a very noble bone, it heals very well and quickly.

“I think it could have been a more accelerated process without risk. And for what a World Cup represents, I think it would have been worth it,” said the doctor for TUDN.

For the famous Atotonilco, who was director of Medical Services in Chivas, a less conservative rehabilitation protocol could have helped Tecatito more.

“The doctor who has treated him: that would be the key, listening to him. Because you operate on him, you perform surgery on him that I’m sure you did very successfully, but the times of this type of injury do lend themselves to being in 3 months and we don’t know why in the end they decide to postpone it for another month, ” Ortega sentenced.
