Dedryck Boyata almost single-handedly ensured that Club Brugge handed over the match against Ostend. First he offered the 2-1 on a silver platter due to a bad pass and then he made a penalty foul.
When he got the ball after the 2-2, the Red Devil was whistled by part of the Bruges supporters. “I was surprised that Boyata was whistled by the public”, Club coach Hoefkens took up for his defender.
“I am very satisfied with how Dedryck is in the group and how he shares his experience. He has also fought back after his injury. It is not all that easy of course.”
Boyata did get the support of the Bruges fans after the match. He was allowed to sing to the hard core together with Casper Nielsen. “After the game it was also nice to see how the Club fans immediately supported him again, that is typical of Club Brugge”, Hoefkens had also seen that.
