The dollar closed the day of October 27, 2022, at 20.36 pesos for sale in banks of the Mexico Citylike Citibanamex, while buying at a price of 19.25 pesos.

The peso appreciated on Thursday after the release of figures in the United States that showed better-than-expected growth in the world’s largest economy, while the Mexican Stock Exchange (BMV) fell after five sessions of gains.

US Gross Domestic Product rose at an annualized rate of 2.6% last quarter, the Commerce Department reported in its GDP flash estimate, ending two consecutive declines. Analysts projected that it would recover at a rate of 2.4%.

In the five previous sessions, the Stock Exchange accumulated a yield of 6.7%.

In the debt market, the 10-year bond yield fell six basis points to 9.72%, while the 20-year rate rose one to 9.92%.
