The Ministry of Justice introduced registry The media are “foreign agents” of the company that owns the Bookmate book service.

Also included in the register are Andrey Baev (Director of Bookmate in Russia) and Aleksey Dokuchaev (Director of Bookmate Marketing and CEO of book publishing houses Individuum and Popcorn Books).

AT list individuals – “foreign agents” got the founder of the TV channel “Rain” Natalya Sindeeva, channel host Vladimir Romensky, and Dozhd’s host and head of information Ekaterina Kotrikadze. Two weeks ago, her husband, editor-in-chief of Dozhd, received the status of “foreign agent” Tikhon Dzyadko.

In addition, lawyer Michal Benyash, political scientist Taras Berezovets, as well as journalist and video blogger Ivan Yakovina were added to the list of individuals – “foreign agents”.

In August 2022, Vedomosti sources reported that the Irish company Bookmate Limited, which owns the Bookmate service, decided to leave the Russian market. One of the interlocutors of the publication said that the service itself will remain available in Russia, Yandex will be engaged in its development, which in June bought rights to use the Bookmate technology platform in the CIS.
