In St. Petersburg, the “main events” for mobilization were completed, the press service of the city governor’s administration told the Fontanka publication.

“Petersburgers subject to conscription have been notified in full. The recruitment of personnel is completed. Relevant work continues,” the city administration said.

Former speaker of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg Alexander Belsky informedthat mobilization in the city should end on October 30th. Later Belsky clarifiedthat he relied on the words of Russian President Vladimir Putin, who promised that by the end of October the mobilization would end throughout the country.

Mobilization in Russia was announced on 21 September. In the open part of the presidential decree on no, there is no data on how many people are planned to be drafted. Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that as part of the mobilization in Russia, 300,000 people would be called up.

On October 17, the authorities of Moscow and Moscow region announced the completion of the mobilization. Meduza’s sources then reported that it was stopped due to the negative mood of the people and that for the same reason, the mobilization could also be completed in St. Petersburg in the coming days, although the “recruitment plan” has not yet been completed there.
