Cartoonist Vitaly Podvitsky was fired from the international news agency (MIA) Rossiya Segodnya. About it reported in Podvitsky’s VK group; for recording noticed “Sota”.

“Cartoonist Vitaly Podvitsky has been removed from the team of authors of the Rossiya Segodnya MIA, the artist’s cartoon gallery has been completely liquidated,” the post in Podvitsky’s group says.

The formal reason for dismissal was called “poor quality of work and sluggish reader interest.” At the same time, the post contains a hint that the real reason is “a change in the agenda towards mitigation, a careful attitude towards the Western reader and fatigue from sanctions in the field of information technology.”

The post also says that over the eight years of “active struggle against Western fakes,” Podvitsky published more than nine thousand “anti-Western cartoons” in the publications of the Rossiya Segodnya news agency.

“The history of Russian operational political caricature of the 21st century was cut short in the midst of the information war,” Podvitsky’s group says.
