Note that Babaeva was born in Moscow, she graduated from the law faculty of Moscow State University. Over the years of her career, she wrote for such media as Moscow News, Izvestia. In 2004, she headed the representative office of RIA Novosti in the UK – she stayed there for two years.
After that, she became the editor-in-chief of the Profile magazine, and then in 2008-2012 she was the editor-in-chief of the RIA Novosti bureau in the USA. After that, she became deputy head of the united editorial office of Moscow News. In the mid-2010s, she joined the presidential pool, covered Russia’s domestic and foreign policy, and was also a specialist in economic topics.
She also managed to work as the editor-in-chief of Gazeta.ru. She went to Crimea in August 2019, where she became the head of the regional division of the Rossiya Segodnya International Information Agency in Simferopol.
