The Mexican state Mexican oil (Pemex) recorded a loss of 52 thousand 33 million pesos in the third quarter of 2022, however, the oil company’s income almost doubled.

The registered fall is 32.68% compared to the same period in 2021, when the loss was 77 thousand 244 million pesos, according to a financial report for the 3rd quarter delivered this Friday to the Mexican stock exchange (BMV).

The losses recorded in Pemex are due to an increase in the cost of sales, an increase in the impairment of fixed assets and foreign exchange loss.

The Mexican oil company increased sales costs by 84.14% with 483 thousand 191 million pesos registered in the third quarter. This contrasts with the 262 thousand 402 million pesos in the same period of the previous year.

According to Pemexthis was due to “an increase of 204.9 billion in the purchase of products for resale. In this quarter an impairment of fixed assets of 7.3 billion was recorded, compared to an impairment reserve of 6 billion in the same period of the year previous”.

Pemex revenue almost doubles

On the other hand, in income Pemex It almost doubles by increasing 56.52%, since it obtained 602 thousand 149 million pesos between August and September 2022.

Revenues for this period increased compared to the 384 thousand 709 million pesos registered in the same period of 2021.
