River striker Pablo Solari attended the presentation of the international triangle that they are going to play with Betis and Colo Colo and said at a press conference that “It is very difficult to assimilate the news of the departure of Marcelo (Gallardo)”. Solari explained that “The news was something hard and it will continue to be hardIt is difficult to assimilate something like this with a person who gave so much to this club, as a player, because he trusted me, and as a fan”.
In relation to what is coming with the new coach, Solari stressed that “There is time to find out who is going to come, for now we have to enjoy the day to day, these two friendly matches that we still have to play and then we will see how everything goes”.
About his first six months in the team, the former Argentinian Colo-Colo player explained: “I did not imagine a start like the one I hadwith those months that I would like to be more regular in what is to come”. And he added: “After the injury against Barracas it was difficult for me to come back and now I feel that I did not finish the tournament in the best way, now to think about what comes in the preseason and put myself in the best way to start the next tournament as I started”.
Finally, he asserted about the triangular: “It is very special, Marcelo brought me and I am grateful as a person and as a River fan, they are very special matches, we can face Colo-Colo for the Copa Libertadores, but with Betis it is something different and I am very happy to face my former teammates”.
The international triangular was presented in Santiago de Chile and will include three games to be played: on November 9 in Viña del Mar between River and Colo-Colo, then on November 13 in Mendoza River will face Betis and on the 16th it closes in Concepción with Colo-Colo – Betis. These two friendly matches will be the end of Gallardo’s cycle at the head of River’s technical direction and the closing of the team’s semester, which after the matches will start a vacation license until December 13 when the preseason starts. The first part of the preparation work will be carried out at the River Camp and then, between January 3 and 18, the squad will travel to Miami to continue with the preseason and international friendlies that were pending from last year.
In recent days it emerged that River’s manager, Enzo Francéscoli, had expressed his preference for Hernán Crespo as Marcelo Gallardo’s replacement. But Crespo would have made it known that for the moment, he does not plan to return from Qatar, where he is currently directing and that he would prefer to do it later, when he is the first option of the leaders and not an alternative to Martín Demichelis, still the main candidate.
