Paul Pelosi, who is married to US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, was “violently attacked” after a break-in at the couple’s San Francisco home on Friday morning. The information was provided by the office of the Speaker of the House of Representatives.
“Mr. Pelosi has been taken to hospital, where he is receiving excellent medical care and is expected to make a full recovery.”

Drew Hammill, a spokesperson for Nancy Pelosi, said the attacker was in police custody. So far, the circumstances and motive for the assault are unknown.
Nanci Pelosi, who is second in line to the US presidency, was not at home at the time of the attack.

Paul Pelosi, 82, was recently convicted of driving under the influence of alcohol after being involved in a car accident in May. The sentence was five days in prison in Napa County, California.
