Just the other day, RED ARENA celebrated its third birthday. The Krasnaya Polyana gambling zone launched this project in 2019 to increase non-gaming activities in its entertainment list. The total area of the facility was 4600 sq. m., the capacity is 5000 people, and the height of the building at the highest point is 18 meters.
For three years, the arena was visited by 170,000 unique guests. 124 events of various formats were organized. Among the events there are 26 sports competitions, 44 MICE events, 39 music shows and concerts, as well as 15 own activities.
RED ARENA General Director Irina Borisova shared the details of organizing the most significant events:
– I am proud of our team of professionals. In January 2020, we managed to implement a case in which we redid the arena configuration three times during the day. In the morning there was a boxing tournament broadcast live on MATCH TV. By evening, the site turned into an ice arena for Tatyana Navka’s show. And closer to midnight, guests came to a music show with a giant dance floor.
It is worth noting that the connection between the arena and the world of martial arts is really strong. RED ARENA regularly hosts AMC FIGHT NIGHTS, EFC, ACA, BRAVE tournaments organized by the Boxing and Muay Thai Federations of Russia.
In particular, on October 14 this year, AMC FIGHT NIGHTS brought their fighters to the gambling zone for the eighth time. Such tournaments become bright events in the sports calendar of the south of Russia. Each brutal show was attended by about 3,000 spectators. Promotion President Kamil Gadzhiev expressed confidence in further cooperation and appreciated the high qualification of the site employees:
– RED ARENA is waiting for many other interesting projects, first of all, because a team of professionals works at this facility, and where professionals work, success is inevitable.
A kind of culmination of the cooperation between RED ARENA and AMC FIGHT NIGHTS was the fight between Vladimir Mineev and Magomed Ismailov. The general director of the site, Irina Borisova, told how the preparations for this fight were carried out:
This confrontation has become the main event of 2021 for our arena and all fans of mixed martial arts in Russia. We understood the level of responsibility and exclusivity of this fight. Therefore, the arena team has been preparing this holiday for 6 months. In total, more than 700 employees participated in the organization of the event every day. These are the promotion and venue team, police officers, volunteers, technical staff, film crew and other participants.
This fall, the arena hosted bare-knuckle fights for the first time. The organizer was the TOP DOG league. The promotion, which has become an Internet phenomenon in our country, was pleased with its decision to hold fights in the Krasnaya Polyana gambling zone. And the general manager of the organization Andrey Kostetsky spoke about the influence of the scenery on the atmosphere and even the sports outcome:
– Thanks to the abundance of LED screens and the convenient design of RED ARENA, TOP DOG held one of the most exciting tournaments in the history of the league. The arena subtly conveyed the atmosphere of our organization, when fighters and spectators became one. This is not given to every site. Hence the bright fights with unexpected outcomes: out of 16 fights, 7 ended ahead of schedule, and 4 obvious underdogs, according to the bookmaker, were able to create intrigue. I would also like to note that the eminent mixed-style fighter David Khachatryan and the winner of the European boxing championship Ivan Abramov made their debut at the RED ARENA in TOP DOG. So far we have held only one tournament, but we hope to return here next year.
The functionality of the site is not limited to holding only fighting competitions. So, in the spring of 2022, the facility hosted the Russian Basketball Championship 3×3. Inside, it was possible to place a training court with a size of 12×10 m and a main court with a size of 16×15 m, as well as build up a stand for spectators and fans with a total capacity of 1,100 people. And already in the summer there was a debut in holding cybersport competitions under its own brand Cyber Fun Fest by RED ARENA. A feature of the tournament was the largest playing surface in the history of such events. This achievement allowed the site to get into the Russian Book of Records. Virtual battles among players from Russia, Japan, Mexico, Iran and other countries took place on the largest media facade in the Sochi mountain cluster. The total screen area was 216 square meters. m.
Apart from sports, RED ARENA is a constant point in the tour schedule of the most important stars of Russian show business. Over the three years of the site’s existence, guests of the Krasnaya Polyana gambling zone have attended concerts by leading stand-up comedians, music shows by Zivert, Dima Bilan, Basta, BI-2, Polina Gagarina, Night Snipers, Elena Vaenga, as well as the Heat music festival, where Grigory Leps, Yegor Creed, Sergey Lazarev and many others spoke.
A rich technical arsenal allowed the arena to confidently act as a host on the MICE events market. The most large-scale were the meeting of Dmitry Portnyagin’s Club 500, the Like Center conference, the Movement forum, the Urban Awards, etc.
The site’s event calendar for 2023 is already full. Adrenaline fights, large-scale musicals, musical shows of the main stars of Russian show business, eSports tournaments and business conferences will again await guests of the Krasnaya Polyana gambling zone.
