You are currently viewing Norwegian skiers’ management urged Yohaug to lie about doping test

Four-time Olympic champion Norwegian skier Teresa Johaug spoke about the situation around her positive doping test.

She admitted that the Norwegian Ski Federation suggested that she not announce doping, but come up with a reason for missing starts.

“Did they really just suggest that I hide the information about the doping test from the media so as not to disrupt the team’s start plans?” asked Yohaug in her autobiographical book.

Recall that in 2016 Yohaug was disqualified, as the anabolic steroid clostebol was found in her body. The 33-year-old skier claimed that the banned drug entered her body because of the lip balm given to her by the Norway national team doctor Frederik Bendiksen. She returned to competition after the Pyeongchang Olympics.

At the end of the 2021/22 season, the Norwegian ended her professional career.

Earlier, Yohaug spoke about the most difficult moment in her career.
