The Liège game distributor of the Belgian Cats injured himself earlier this week and was unable to participate in the 76-64 victory of her club ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne against the Spanish San Sebastian, Thursday evening in the EuroCup. It was Lyon’s first official match of the season.

David Gautier, the new Lyon coach, said on Friday that he had been absent for at least three weeks. That means that Allemand is highly uncertain for the next European Championship qualifying matches of the Belgian Cats.

They are scheduled for November 24 (against North Macedonia) and November 27 (against Bosnia). Both matches will be played in the Sportoase Arena in Leuven.

It’s not going well for the Cats. Star player Emma Meesseman, who injured herself at the World Cup in Sydney on September 26, is also not back yet.

She missed the first game of her new club Fenerbahçe, Wednesday evening in the EuroLeague against the Polish Polkowice (73-46 defeat). A date for her return has not yet been set.
