US President Joe Biden commented on the statements of Russian President Vladimir Putin that Russia does not intend to use nuclear weapons in Ukraine.
“If he’s not going to do it, why does he keep talking about it? Why is he talking about the possibility of using tactical nuclear weapons? He has a very dangerous approach to the situation, ”Biden said in a commentary to Newsnation television.
The US President also noted that Putin “could end this all by simply getting out of Ukraine.”
On October 27, at a meeting of the Valdai Discussion Club, Putin said that Russia “does not need” to launch a nuclear strike on Ukraine. “We don’t have any sense, neither political nor military,” the Russian president said.
In September, Putin said that the Russian Federation could use nuclear weapons if the country’s territorial integrity was threatened. Then he emphasized that it was “not a bluff.” Shortly thereafter, Russia announced the annexation of four Ukrainian regions.
