On matchday 9 in the Super League, Racing Genk quickly took the measure of KV Mechelen. The Genk Ladies rolled over the visitors after the break with four goals. In this way, Genk maintains its connection with the top, Mechelen remains ninth.

After the defeat against co-leader Anderlecht, Genk had recovered well in the past two weeks with victories against Zulte Waregem and Standard. Against Mechelen it wanted to go for a 9 out of 9, so as not to let OHL and Anderlecht run too far at the top.

No goals were scored in the first half, but after the break the home team showed itself a class better than KV Mechelen. Luna Vanzeir opened the scoring. Not much later Joy Kersten added a second one.

Genk was loose and via Kersten again and Chiara Wielockx it eventually became 4-0. Genk thus jumps to third place over Club Brugge for the time being. Mechelen remains at the bottom of place 9 with only three points from 8 games.
