Facebook is down! Since around 9:00 p.m., users have been increasingly reporting a disruption to the platform. The biggest problem seems to be with updating the site at the moment.

However, there are also many users who have no problem with the platform at all. What could be the reason?

Facebook partially unavailable

The website of the social media platform is currently unavailable for many users, as can be seen from several error message pages. Either updates don’t go through or they can’t access the app. There are also problems when uploading pictures or posts.

Most of the reports come from Hamburg, Munich, Leipzig, Frankfurt, Bonn, Bremen and Nuremberg. Apart from Germany, other European countries such as Austria, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and England are apparently also affected. But even in Russia, Egypt and South Africa there should be disruptions to the website.

Is that the reason?

Whether this is a technical problem or possibly even a hacker attack could be behind it is not yet certain.
