Well, that’s really scary for every driver…

As if drivers on the A45 in the Ruhr area aren’t put to the test enough because of the famous “Lüdenscheider Bridge”, it’s going to get even harder this weekend.

And that has nothing to do with Halloween or the time change…

Weekends become tests of patience

The Westphalia autobahn carries out routine checks on the A45 bridges at Brunsbecke and Kattenohl. For this purpose, one direction of travel will be completely blocked between the Hagen-Süd and Lüdenscheid-Nord junctions for several weekends.

As early as Saturday (October 29) from 6 a.m. there will be a mega closure in the direction of Dortmund. The Autobahn Westfalen wants to use the bridge day on October 31st as a long weekend and bulk up. The route will remain closed from Saturday until Tuesday (1.11.) at 8.30 p.m. Detours have been set up.

A45 partially closed until mid-November

But it doesn’t stop there. Because also on the following three weekends, sections of the route are closed. On the 5th/6th November from 6 a.m. to 8.30 p.m. the route in the direction of Frankfurt, a week later again in the direction of Dortmund, and then seven days later the Frankfurt route was closed again.

It remains to be hoped that the bridge tests will at least be completed without any defects…
