The Charles Cullen Story

This movie is based on a book that Charles Graeber wrote about the killer Charlie Cullen.

Charles Edmund Cullen is an American serial killer who He ended the lives of at least 40 people while working as a nurse (for 16 years) in New Jersey.

After dropping out of high school, Cullen enlisted in the United States Navy and served aboard the submarine USS Woodrow Wilson. He was caught dressed in a surgical gown and gown at missile controls and transferred to a lower-pressure job.

He then attempted suicide and was committed to the Navy psych ward for years to come. He was discharged in 1984 and enrolled in nursing school at Mountainside Hospital in Montclair, New Jersey.

He graduated in 1986. According to this man’s own confession, he already had a restraining order against his ex-wife for his extremely violent behavior, the first time he killed someone was June 11, 1988.

It is known that the nurse injected a lethal dose of medication into a patient at the Saint Barnabas medical center. He confessed to killing several patients there.

When the investigations began, he left the hospital and was taken to the Warren Hospital in the city of Phillipsburg, New Jersey, where he killed three women with a drug overdose.

After this episode came more suicide attempts and many more murders.

Cullen was arrested on December 12, 2003 and charged at the time with murder and attempted murder. But he confessed that he had killed at least 40 patients during his career.

He first pleaded guilty to killing 13 patients and trying to kill two others. A month later for the murder of 3 patients and in November 2004 he accepted the blame for 6 more people.

In March 2006 he was sentenced to 17 life sentences for which he will not be eligible for parole until 2403. He is now 62 years old and is in the New Jersey State Prison in Trenton.

And why did he kill so many people? In his statements, he explained that he could not bear the idea of ​​having to see patients suffering when they died and health personnel trying to save them.

Thing is, not all of his victims were terminal either. Psychological tests and subsequent investigations managed to determine that the number of murders could be even higher.
