The CEO of Mediaset España, Paul Vasilehas informed the board of directors of his decision to conclude his management at the head of the company at the end of this year 2022. This is how he himself communicated it to the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV) this past Wednesday after more than 24 years inside of the company and 40 in the Italian parent company.
In this way, some of the reactions of the best-known faces of Mediaset have already been known. Among them, one of the most outstanding dedications has been that of George Xavier Vazquezwho has honored the more than two decades of vasile with a few words on his blog in the magazine ‘Readings’.
Paolo Vasile, in a file photo
“Paolo Vasile, my biggest boss, is leaving, and I’m left a bit of an orphan“, titled the presenter of ‘Sálvame’ in his section in the magazine where he collaborates weekly.
Say goodbye to the executive
“I feel that my emotional grip on television disappears and I don’t know very well what will happen from now on. In any case, I am prepared for everything. Puppeteers are like that: we have a great ability to pick up canvas when it touches,” he begins by saying in the letter dedicated to Paul vasile. In it he admits to being afraid.
And it is that Jorge Javier he openly confesses the uncertainty that floods his body in the face of the imminent change that seems to be taking place in the communication group after the departure of the CEO for the last more than twenty years. “If I have worked so hard it has been because in my company there was a person who encouraged me and who always had the right word to support me when a crisis made an appearance. Now that person leaves me and I find myself lost, I have to admit it“, keep saying.

Jorge Javier Vazquez.
End of an era on television
“It has been twenty years of transgressive, controversial, funny, questionable and contested television, but I think that, above all, necessary. Because thanks to the entertainment that has been broadcast on Mediaset, many loneliness have been alleviated,” defends the Catalan television model you have created. Thus, he writes a few words “to thank you for these vibrant years that I have lived by your side. Can you love a boss? Yes. And I’m going to miss him a lot too.“.

And he ended the tribute with an anecdote about his relationship with vasile. “When I went to chat with him last week and saw that I was getting very tender, I took the opportunity to turn my sentimental state around and tell him that he was asking me for the entire week of the December bridge on vacation. He reproached me for going to work alone when he had a little free time between vacations. I know his tone of voice was trying to scold me but this time it didn’t click. We both knew we were saying goodbye. And since neither he nor I know how to say goodbye to someone we care about, we miss other resources so as not to fall into melodrama”, concluded Jorge Javier Vazquez.
