The tractor driver and a municipal police of Argamasilla de Calatrava (Ciudad Real) have died in a shooting after a man has barricaded himself in a country house. The shooter has been killed. There is at least three wounded.
The entrenched man hid in an area of villas and he fired a rifle on several occasions at several Civil Guard patrols who went to the area after being alerted that he was shooting at people and drivers who were circulating at kilometer 2.5 of the CR-4116 road, linking the Ciudad Real towns of Villamayor de Calatrava and Argamasilla de Calatrava.
The mayor of Villamayor, Juan Antonio Callejas, has confirmed to Europa Press that the event began in a dispute between the shooter and his father. The 81-year-old father has been transferred to the Puertollano hospital with bruises.
Some vehicles have been affected in the exchange of fire in the area near an urbanization of chalets where those involved resided.
