The UN fact-finding mission in Ukraine has concluded, after visiting the country in June, that Russia has committed and continues to commit war crimes in the invasion of the country.
According to the report presented this Friday by the president of the commission that traveled to Ukraine, Erik Mosesmany of these murders were perpetrated in people who had been detained by Russian forces.

“We were shocked by the large number of executions perpetrated in the areas we visited,” he explained. Erik Moses who indicated that the mission investigates this type of murder in 16 Ukrainian towns, although it has received credible reports of crimes of this type in many other places.
Russia refuses to cooperate
These conclusions are the first communicated by this mission since its creation by the Human Rights Council last March. During its visit in June, the mission traveled to various cities in Ukraine, including kyiv, Chernigov, Kharkov and Sumi.
“The recent discovery of more mass graves illustrates the seriousness of the situation,” said the president of the commission, who indicated that the Ukrainian authorities collaborated with them in the investigations, while Russia has so far refused to communicate with them.
