Vancouver Canucks head coach Bruce Boudreau spoke about the level of play of Russian striker Andrei Kuzmenko.
“As soon as I saw him on the first day, I said:“ If this guy is as good as he is advertised, he will put the whole city on the ears! I don’t like to make comparisons, but Kuzmenko’s shot is very similar to Ovechkin’s throw from the left face-off circle, ”Boudreau quotes sportsnet.
According to him, the Russian striker makes a good impression in the team’s training.
The 26-year-old hockey player trains on a line with Elias Pettersson and Ilya Mikheev.
Kuzmenko moved to Vancouver in the summer of 2022. In the previous season, the striker played for the St. Petersburg SKA, in which he played 45 matches and scored 53 (20 + 33) points.
Earlier it was reported that Russian striker Nikita Soshnikov signed a contract with the New York Islanders.
