The new MG electric already has prices for our country. This Chinese firm is owned by Saic Motor, who rescued the old electric name and is betting heavily on Europe with affordable vehicles that do not give up autonomy. To the MG Marvel R and MG5 Electric is now added the MG4 Electrican interesting fully electric compact.

This new MG4 Electric is one of the cheapest models on the market and, without a doubt, the one that offers the most autonomy in its price range. This can vary between 350 and 450 kilometers, depending on the propellant/battery combination chosen. And all with some technological details that deserve that we stop at them.

Great autonomy for little money

It is very difficult to start talking about the new MG4 Electric without focusing on the price/range ratio, to which we must add a very interesting charging power. And it is that this new electric compact of 4.29 meters offers up to 450 kilometers of autonomy in its most ambitious version.

The Chinese electric will be sold in our country with an engine in two different power versions. The entry will have 125 kW (170 hp) and a 51 kWh battery to offer 350 kilometers of autonomy. The superior version increases its power to 150 kW (204 hp) and, in addition, the battery grows to 66 kWh. The autonomy also does the same up to 450 kilometers.

They are more or less similar data than those of a Volkswagen ID.3 or a Cupra Born. The difference (and substantial) is that the cheapest option of the MG4 Electric starts at 28,280 euros and the most powerful option goes on the market from 32,280 euros. In both cases, up to 7,000 euros can be subtracted if we take advantage of the Moves III Plan, which leaves the MG4 Electric as the most capable model for less money on the market, with starting prices from €21,280 in the best case.

To the above we must add that this MG4 Electric is capable of charging at 11 kW by alternating current and raises its maximum power to 117 kW in direct current. If the Luxury pack is chosen, the recharging power increases to 135 kW. In both cases, the batteries are liquid-cooled.

MG4 Electric, does not dispense with its more technological side

In terms of technology and infotainment, the MG4 Electric has a seven-inch screen that functions as a dashboard and a 10.25-inch central screen to control the multimedia functions and is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It can be configured with wireless charging for mobile phone.

To all this will be added a provision of remarkable driving assistance ADAS systems. It will come standard with adaptive cruise control, dense or jammed traffic assistant, lane departure alert and lane keeping, as well as forward collision alert and emergency braking.

Buying a car is increasingly a matter of the rich. And the electric car is only going to make it worse

Accompanying these systems will be the 360 degree camera, driver status monitoring, lane change assistant, blind spot sensor and rear cross traffic alert or proximity when opening the door. Systems to which heated seats and steering wheel or heat pump can be added.

Finally, another of the great attractions of this MG4 Electric is that it can be enjoyed with wireless updates via OTA, which will allow you to expand its functions and keep up to date with the new features that the brand is including.
