A dangerous incident occurred at the Laver Cup in London on Friday.
After the first set of the second match between Stefanos Tsitsipas and Diego Schwartzman, a man ran onto the pitch at the O2 Arena and inflamed his arm to protest the use of private jets in the UK. Security personnel immediately extinguished the fire and carried the man out of the hall.
The match between Tsitsipas and Schwartzman continued without delay. The Greek won the match 6-2, 6-1 and gave Team Europe a 2-0 lead after Norway’s Casper Ruud had beaten American Jack Sock 6-4, 5-7, 10-7 would have.
At the Laver Cup, a European team plays against a selection of tennis players from the rest of the world from Friday to Sunday. It is the last tournament in which tennis star Roger Federer takes part. Federer is still in double action alongside Rafael Nadal later on Friday evening. It will be the last game of his career.
