Finland in the next few days will introduce a ban on the entry of Russians with tourist visas issued by any country that is part of Schengen area. This was stated by Finnish Foreign Minister Pekka Haavisto. According to him, the relevant decision has already been agreed upon by the government and will be legally formalized in the coming days.
Finland is also going to cancel at the border multiple entry visas issued by its consulates if their holder is going to enter the country for tourism purposes. Entry will be allowed only for family reasons, for study or work, participation in cargo transportation, as well as for humanitarian purposes.
Haavisto noted that visa requirements for Russians who own real estate in Finland have already been tightened, in particular, loopholes have been closed that made it possible to register real estate for several people at once, so that each of them would receive the right to enter the country.
Since September 19, entry on tourist Schengen visas has been closed for Russians by Poland, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia.
- Many Russians are fleeing the mobilization. Will they be accepted in the EU? So far, only Germany (in words) has expressed such readiness
