Browns defeat Steelers in Thursday Night Game

Cleveland – Friday 09/23/2022 10:00 am

The Cleveland Browns beat the Pittsburgh Steelers 29:17 at home on Thursday evening (local time).

In an exciting match, the Browns ended up just ahead. The hosts lead 7-0 after the first quarter, but the Steelers around neo-quarterback Mitchell Trubisky go into halftime with a 14-13 lead.

After the half-time break, the Browns scored through a field goal from Cade York and went into the decisive quarter with a 16:14 lead.

With the score at 23:17 for Cleveland, the Steelers have the ball deep in their own half just before the end. Only a touchdown can save the Pennsylvania franchise.

From a hardly promising position, Pittsburgh tries to get into the end zone through several backward passes. In the attempt, the Steelers lose the egg and Browns cornerback Denzel Ward provides a touchdown when the game clock runs out for the 29:17 victory.

Cleveland leads the AFC North with a record of 2-0-1, while Pittsburgh is third in the same division (1-0-2).

However, the Browns’ victory became a minor matter. Steelers wide receiver George Pickens provided the highlight of the evening with a spectacular catch.

Trubisky’s attempt at a pass takes too long, but the rookie knows how to handle the situation well. Pickens stretches his arm out and claws the egg with one hand.

The catch is very reminiscent of Odell Beckham Jr., when the wide receiver caught the ball in the same way while serving with the New York Giants. In the game against the Dallas Cowboys in 2014, OBJ even brought the gaming device into the end zone.
