Where is the Island of temptations: these are the locations of Villa Playa and Villa Paraíso where the Telecinco reality show is recorded

Before the premiere of the last season of The Island of Temptations, the programming between Telecinco and Antena 3 has become a real battlefield. One of the intrigues of the night was knowing who would win the highest share and Telecinco ended up being the leader, although marking a historical minimum of viewers.

a relative success

Telecinco drags a long time ago downward trend in audience that Antena 3 has taken advantage of. The Atresmedia channel has managed to rise to the leadership of audiences, which has led Mediaset to rethink its grid on more than one occasion.

Last week, Antena 3 scheduled the series ‘The Wife’ to compete directly with ‘Nightmare in El Paraíso’ and came out on top. This week he repeated the move but against a bigger rival: Season 5 of The Island of Temptations. Telecinco risked everything by advancing the premiere of his last hope to raise the hearings…and it turned out well, albeit relatively.

As for the share quota that La isla achieved, without a doubt emerged victorious with 20.5%. It was the leader of the night compared to ‘Lawife’ (which fell slightly from 17.5% to 16.4%), a fact that is certainly positive in Telecinco’s recent history (where the only one capable of breaking the losing streak has been the Eurobasket).

However, if we compare figures, achievement is not as much as it seems. On the one hand, it must be taken into account that La isla did not coincide all the time with ‘The wife’ in the same slot since it began and ended later. The difference in share between the two is smaller when we take the figure for the moment in which they coincided on the grid (18% for the first compared to 16.4% for the second).

On the other hand, although the audience share is high, that 20.5% is actually equivalent to 1,613,000 viewers, which is far below of the number of viewers of the premieres of previous editions (with a minimum of 1,866,000).

Thus, although Telecinco can score a point on this occasion (the fact that there was no debate should give them the clue that it is not a claim for the public), has remained in something much more modest within the trajectory of this format.

What we ask ourselves now is: will the success of The Island of Temptations continue next week? Will it gain viewers or will it gradually deflate? What will Antena 3 choose to counterprogram, now that the Italian series has finished? We’ll be alert.
