Filming continued after a break
Filming of “The Crown” continues. Production resumed after a hiatus due to the Queen’s death.
The show must go on! A few days after the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II (1926-2022), filming on the Netflix hit series “The Crown” is back in full swing. The producers initially paused filming after the death of the monarch on September 8 out of respect.
Parts of the sixth season will be filmed in Mallorca and Barcelona. The “Bild” newspaper has photos showing the impressive film set in Puerto Andratx in the southwest of the island. The possibly final season of “The Crown” is supposed to be about the last summer of Princess Diana (1961-1997), played by Elizabeth Debicki (32), who before her tragic accidental death with her boyfriend Dodi Al-Fayed ( 1955-1997) vacationed on his yacht in the Mediterranean.
Filming in Carsten Maschmeyer’s former villa?
According to “Bild”, a 26 meter long luxury yacht was rented for the shooting. In addition, the production is said to have rented the villa “Castillo Mallorca”. The house used to belong to entrepreneur Carsten Maschmeyer (63). Princess Diana is said to have actually spent a few days vacationing in the villa.
The British “Daily Mail” has already shared the first photos from the shooting. It shows actress Lesley Manville (66), who embodies Princess Margaret (1930-2002), the Queen’s sister, in the series. She was spotted on the film set in Mallorca getting off a private jet. It is believed that scenes are currently being filmed that show Princess Margaret on the Caribbean island of Mustique. The fifth season of “The Crown” is scheduled for release in November.
