David Silva, convicted of beating a young woman at the Maspalomas carnival

David Silva (Arguineguín, 1986) will have to pay 1,080 to a young woman after being convicted of Court of Instruction Number 3 of San Bartolomé de Tirajana for hitting her during a fight. It happened this past summer, during the celebration of the carnival of maspalomas. In the “brawl” he was also involved Fernando Antonio Jimenez Silvabrother of the footballer of the Real society.

No trial has had to be held, as David Silva, his brother and a third person, who hit a young man with a stone and threatened another with a knife, admitted the facts.

Real Sociedad, the club with which the Canarian player has a contract until June 2023, is not going to make a public statement about what happened. The matter concerning one of the stars of the team will be handled “internally and privately”.

As published Canary Islands Weather, who has had access to the sentence, the events took place on June 19. The account, with the agreement of the accused, is as follows: “During a brawl between several people during the early hours of June 19 of this year in the vicinity of the San Bartolomé de Tirajana International Camp, David Jiménez Silva, with the intention of undermine the physical integrity of the victim, he strongly grabbed her arm to move her away, causing her to fall to the ground”.

As reported, the young woman suffered a “post-traumatic cervical pain, contusion in the left elbow, laceration in the second finger of the left hand, lacerations in both knees and lacerations in both legs, which required a first medical assistance without subsequent medical treatment and eight days of basic personal injury.

Judge Francisco Javier Ramírez de Verger Vargas signs the sentence that punishes Silva with a fine of 1,080 euros (12 euros per day for 3 months) as “author responsible for a minor crime of injury, with subsidiary personal liability in the event of non-payment of a day of deprivation of liberty for every two daily installments not met”. He must also compensate the young woman with 520 euros for civil liability: 280 euros for “injuries suffered” and 240 for “material damage caused.”

The brother and a third party involved

The brother of the footballer from Arguineguín, Fernando Antonio Jiménez Silva, has been sentenced for two minor offenses of injury: “He hit a young man in the face with his hand, and once he had fallen to the ground, he continued hitting him in different parts of the body together with other people who have not been able to be identified,” says the ruling. He also dealt “several blows” to another young woman “with the aim of undermining her physical integrity.”

As for the third convict, the sentence indicates that he “threw a stone that hit the head” of a young man, causing a wound that required suturing. “Moments later he frightened another young man with a knife and told him ‘come here and I’ll kill you,'” the report completes.
