A Brazilian hacker found security vulnerabilities on FC Bayern Munich’s website and was rewarded by the club, according to Brazilian TV broadcaster Globo Esporte.
Brazilian Daniel Martins decided to hack into Bayern Munich’s security system. In doing so, he found out the user data, names and financial information of the members through gross gaps in the security system.
However, the hacker, nicknamed “Ghost”, is a fan of the German record champions and therefore immediately forwarded the security deficiencies to the Munich team. However, the record champion did not initially respond to the hacker’s inquiries.
Martins then forwarded the configuration errors to a Brazilian journalist. Through this, FC Bayern finally became aware of the safety deficiencies.
As a thank you for the tip, the Bayern fan now received a jersey signed by Thomas Müller.
