YouTube played its biggest trump card to attract users to its platform, Shorts. In fierce competition with TikTok, YouTube has officially unveiled a new way for Shorts creators to make money.

WILL GIVE 45 PERCENT OF INCOME

Google-owned YouTube has announced that it will advertise on its vertical video service Shorts and give 45% of revenue to video producers, Reuters reported. YouTube distributed 55 percent of earnings to videos other than Shorts.

YouTube said it will split the ad revenues among the creators of Shorts, which has 10 million views in 90 days.

100 MILLION DOLLARS FUND

In April, it was reported that YouTube has set up a $100 million fund to encourage creators to make short videos.

Google made $14.2 billion in revenue from YouTube ad sales in the first half of this year.
