Mali: The President of the transition in Guinea begins his official visit to Bamako

– A few hours before the celebration of the 62nd anniversary of the independence of Mali

The President of the Guinean Transition Colonel Mamady Doumbouya paid a 24-hour visit to Bamako on Wednesday

Mamady Doumbouya arrived Wednesday evening in Bamako as part of a friendship and work visit.

The Guinean President was welcomed, on his arrival at Modibo Kéita airport in Sénou, (Bamako) with all the honors, on his descent from the presidential plane of the Republic of Mali, by his Malian counterpart, Colonel Assimi Goïta .

“I am in Bamako alongside my brother, President Assimi GOÏTA, to celebrate Mali’s independence and support the Malian people, who are a brotherly people,” Colonel Mamady Doumbouya told the press.

The Guinean Head of State also recalled the historical links between Mali and Guinea: “Guinea and Mali constitute two lungs in the same body. For me, it is important to be in Bamako to celebrate the independence of Mali with the Malian brothers”.

Mali celebrates, Thursday, the 62nd anniversary of its independence, in a climate of insecurity.
