Football- Final second edition super cup Assimi Goita: Mopti dominates Bamako

The Minister in charge of Sports, Mossa Ag Attaher attended, alongside the Acting Prime Minister, Abdoulaye Maïga and his government colleagues, the closing of the 2022 edition of the Colonel Assimi Goïta Football Super Cup. It was Friday, September 16 at the Mamadou Konaté stadium in Bamako.

“For 25 days, we attended meetings that were committed and imbued with fair play. This 2022 edition, which brought together teams from all regions of Mali, was a moment of sharing and cultural exchanges”, it is in these terms that Minister Mossa Ag Attaher spoke after the final of the 2e edition of the national football tournament bearing the name of the Head of State. According to the Minister in charge of Youth and Sports, beyond the sporting aspect, the young people learned to know each other, to flourish in the cultural values ​​of each other. “All the delegations were committed to the sacrosanct virtues of giving and receiving from the other. They lived in perfect symbiosis within the confines of the sports high school in Kabala while communing with the neighboring populations to the rhythm of recreational and cultural activities”, he added.

Opposed to that of Bamako, the Mopti team won on penalties by 4 tabs to 2 after regulation time ended in 0-0.

On the sporting level, the tournament will have allowed the detection and confidence building of new talents who will undoubtedly hoist the Malian flag on the roof of Africa and the world in the near future. At the end of this tournament, it is Mali who wins because the fundamental objective which consists of “the main thing is to participate”, has triumphed”, recalled the Minister.
