Surprising reunion with Ulrich Wickert (79) in the “Daily Topics”. On Tuesday (September 20th), the former presenter stood in front of the camera again to announce the news that Caren Miosga (53) has been presenting the “daily topics” in the first longer than himself. Wickert led the show for 15 years and two months. This week, Caren Miosga broke that record. She is now the longest-serving “Daily Issues” presenter.

“Your style is unmistakable: competent, understandable and clear, highly professional, but always with empathy and a special charm,” explain ARD program director Christine Strobl and ARD editor-in-chief Oliver Köhr on the occasion of Miosga’s record. She has long since become “Mrs. Daily Topics”. Your predecessor Wickert took his “defeat” sporty. He said in a clip from the “Daily Topics” that was also distributed on social networks: “That’s life, but I’ll get over it”. Wickert, who ran the program until 2006, finally wished the ARD viewers “for the very last time […] Have a pleasant evening and a good night’s sleep”.
