62nd anniversary of Mali's independence: the President of the Transition welcomed Mamady DOUMBOUYA

The President of the Transition, HE Colonel Assimi GOÏTA, Head of State, welcomed, this Wednesday, September 21, 2022, the Guinean President of the Transition. Colonel Mamady DOUMBOUYA is making a 24-hour friendly and working visit to Mali. He was welcomed, with all honors, on his descent from the presidential plane of the Republic of Mali, by President GOÏTA.

After the national anthem of the two brotherly countries and the review of the troops, President GOÏTA accompanied his guest to the halls of the presidential pavilion. After this welcome, the host of the President of the Transition was taken to the Koulouba Palace. Before his departure, Colonel Mamady DOUMBOUYA told the press the purpose of his visit: “I am in Bamako alongside my brother, President Assimi GOÏTA, to celebrate Mali’s independence and accompany the Malian people, who is a fraternal people”.

The Guinean President of the Transition then recalled the historical links between Mali and Guinea: “Guinea and Mali constitute two lungs in the same body. For me, it is important to be in Bamako to celebrate the independence of Mali with the Malian brothers,” he added.
