Wiener Kicker has to go to court for freaking out

Vienna – Tuesday, September 20th, 2022, 10:14 p.m

A physical altercation during a lower-class football match between two Viennese clubs on Wednesday has criminal consequences for a 19-year-old kicker.

He has to answer for serious bodily harm at the regional court because on April 3, 2022 he is said to have headbutted an opponent and then kicked him in the head.

Opponent suffered serious injuries

Kicker, who was nine years his senior, collapsed unconscious and was taken to a hospital in a rescue helicopter. According to the criminal complaint, he suffered a severe concussion and had to be intubated.

He also suffered abrasions on his face and minor motor damage to the radial nerve. The 28-year-old – a prison guard by profession – has not played a football match since the violent encounter. The 19-year-old, on the other hand, changed clubs in July.
