Sparkasse in NRW makes a drastic decision – bitter for customers

Wild chase after savings bank blast in the Ruhr area

In order to protect itself and others from incidents like these, the Sparkasse now wants to dismantle some machines in NRW.

Sparkasse in NRW draws consequences

The Sparkasse in NRW had previously asked the police to identify particularly endangered locations. The main issue was where the machines are mounted. In the case of apartment buildings, residents have become nervous due to the many explosions in the recent past.

The Sparkasse Hilden-Ratingen-Velbert has now reacted to a recommendation from the police despite various preventive measures. From October 4th, five self-service branches will be completely closed.

“We had to balance the need for cash supply with security at the locations involved. Police say the risk of renewed or new attacks remains. We can no longer and do not want to take this risk. The safety of customers and residents is definitely our top priority,” said Udo Zimmermann, CEO of Sparkasse HRV.

Customers now have to use the main branch in Ratingen or the branch in Lintorf. Alternatively, you can always go to the supermarket to withdraw money.
