Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors, Vice President, General Director and Head Coach of SKA Roman Rotenberg answered a question regarding the possible participation of the Russian team in the World Cup in 2024.

“We have constant contacts with everyone: the International Ice Hockey Federation, the NHL. Very long and good relationship. For our part, we will do everything that depends on us. We are ready to play, and the NHL bosses are already making decisions, ”Rothenberg quotes RIA News.

The National Hockey League (NHL), in conjunction with the League Hockey Players Union (NHLPA), is considering holding the KM in 2024. Tournament matches should be held in North America and Europe with the participation of eight teams.

In May, the IIHF extended the suspension of Russia from all tournaments until 2023 and withdrew the right to host the 2023 World Cup in St. Petersburg.

Earlier, Chairman of the Olympic Committee Jan Vapaavuori spoke about possible changes in the decision to prevent Russian and Belarusian athletes and teams from participating in international competitions.
