"Ours" in Europe: Khvich and Biyol scored a goal against the Milan giants

In September, two more players with a “Russian” past ended up in the Premier League – ex-Lokomotiv goalkeeper Eldin Yakupovich, who was after leaving Leicester, signed a contract with Everton, and midfielder Willian, who had flashed in Anji, returned to London, where he played for Chelsea and Arsenal, to play for Fulham.

The first got into the application for the match for the first time, but did not enter the field, but the Brazilian helped the new partners win in Nottingham, one way or another taking part in all three goals scored from the 54th to the 60th minute. First, his accurate serve from the corner to Oluvatosin Adarabioyo led to a return goal, then he scored a pre-goal pass on the flank (although in fact, the goal is entirely the merit of João Paligny, who famously shot from afar), and, to top it off, he famously took Renan Lodi away from the center of the defense , freeing the area for Harrison Reed, who was running around. So the winger decides by experience, even when he does not touch the ball.

In La Liga, both of the players we remember had big matches against the giants. Axel Witsel in the Madrid derby traditionally came out in the center of Atlético’s defense, but failed to save the gate from the stubborn Rodrigo and Federico Valverde, although he was not directly guilty of both goals conceded.

And Ezequiel Ponce saw with his own eyes the Camp Nou, where his Elche received a peremptory 0:3. In fairness, from the 14th minute the guests played in the minority. The Argentine himself went to the last 22 minutes and made only 10 touches during this time, but it’s hard for anyone to cope with the current Barça. And just one point and the last place in the table should alert the fans of Elche.

In the Bundesliga, “our” players are also doing poorly. Only Chidera Ejuke, who scored an assist in the second round in a row, stands out. At that time, he helped Hertha take a point in the game with Bayer (2: 2), and now he almost brought a victory over Mainz (1: 1), which equalized the score in the fourth added minute. The Nigerian was the most active in his team, hitting half of the Berliners’ shots (two of four) and skillfully threw the ball on Luca Tossar’s head from the spot.

A very worthy match was also played by Ejuka’s teammate, defender Filip Uremovich, who made six clearances with three interceptions.

But Serdar Azmun in Bayer does not stick at all. With each round, he gets less and less playing time and against Werder Bremen (1:1) he appeared only in the 84th minute. And still, the Iranian could have managed to become the hero of the meeting, but from the goalkeeper’s line he hit the crossbar with his head. I won’t be surprised if he regrets moving to Leverkusen, because he still hasn’t made effective moves this season.

Goalkeeper Andrei Lunev is still injured, so he has to watch the attempts of his partners to get out of the quagmire from the side. Given the regular mistakes of Lukasz Hradecki, who once again conceded a ridiculous ball, the Russian is probably even more insulting that he does not have a chance to help.

It is worth mentioning the most difficult match for Schalke in Dortmund, in which the hosts had an absolute advantage. It is not surprising that winger Jordan Larsson managed to make only six (!) Accurate passes in the almost hour of playing time allotted to him. True, the percentage of accuracy is still depressing – 55%. Alex Kral in this game came out for the last 15 minutes and managed to touch the ball the same six times (two accurate passes out of four).

One of the heroes of the tour in Serie A was Yaka Bijol, whose two arrivals on the standards brought Udinese a victory over Inter (3:1). In the first half, he, along with another ex-CSKA defender Rodrigo Becao, took Martin Skrinjar into a “sandwich”, forcing him to send the ball into his own net, and in the 84th minute he won the riding martial arts and put the ball under the far post with his head.

It is worth adding that both ex-soldiers played great at their own gates, subject to a large advantage of the Nerazzurri. The Brazilian scored five tackles, and the Slovene scored as many as 10 (!) clearances of the ball from the penalty area. As a result, the Udi team won the fifth victory in a row and broke into the top three.

Another top match involving players familiar to us took place in Rome, where Roma, despite an epic advantage (21-4 in shots), lost to Atalanta with a minimum score. Mario Pasalic, despite the success of the team, is unlikely to take this game into his asset, but for Eldor Shomurodov, every appearance in the Italian championship is memorable – Jose Mourinho has only released him once so far. By the way, maybe it was not the Portuguese who gave the Uzbek time this evening, because he was sent off in the middle of the second half. However, the striker almost justified the trust, dangerously heading and making a cool breakthrough in the very ending.

A similar picture was at San Siro, where Milan stormed the gates of Napoli throughout the match, and as a result lost 1:2. Our favorite Khvicha Kvaratskhelia was not the brightest player in this game, but it was he who cheated Serginho Dest at the entrance to the penalty area and provoked him to kick in the legs. Mateo Politano did everything to ruin the penalty earned by his friend, but the ball still slipped under the arm of Mick Minyan. Having defeated the champion, the Neapolitans came out on top.

In league 1 finally scored Alexander Golovin. And it is very uncharacteristic for himself – his head. This goal began the defeat of Reims (3:0). The Monegasques won a third victory in a row, but they are separated from the Champions League zone by a solid five points.

Fans of Lokomotiv will surely gloat that Alexis Beka-Beka mostly comes on as substitutes in Nice (lost 0:1 to Angers due to the removal of Jean-Clair Todibo already in the 9th second!), and fans of “Spartacus” – over the unsuccessful game of Maximilian Kofrier for “Clermont” against “Auxerre” (1:3). The Belgian was replaced in the 70th minute, although, in all honesty, he was far from the worst in his team.

After the dismissal of Domenico Tedesco from Leipzig, there was one less coach for Russian fans in Europe, but there is still someone to follow. So, last weekend his former team was smeared by Daniel Farke’s Borussia M (0:3), and Sandro Schwarz’s Hertha, as mentioned above, failed to keep a minimal victory in Mainz.

Luciano Spalletti is enjoying moments of glory with Napoli, who led them to the top spot in Serie A. The Neapolitans score the most (15 goals also for Udinese) and concede the least – five goals (only Atalanta have fewer – three). So their leadership after seven rounds is well deserved.

Unai Emery with Villarreal remained the only club in the top 5 leagues that did not concede goals, but in the last two rounds, the submariners could not keep the gates shut. As a result, only one point scored and falling to sixth place in the table.
