Nintendo Logo Large

After a Nintendo Direct very successful last week, the Japanese publisher communicates this Tuesday on the part hardware of its consoles and more precisely on login to their account nintendo and sharing screenshots through social networks that are Facebook and Twitter.

Regarding the first point, it will just no longer be possible to connect to an account nintendo via these two platforms, simply, as detailed on the official website. Nothing too harmful and all the explanations on the procedure to follow to be quiet if you use this means.

Notification of removing the option to log in to your Nintendo Account with an associated Facebook or Twitter account

As of October 25, 2022, it will no longer be possible to link a Facebook or Twitter account to your Nintendo Account.

  • It will no longer be possible to use a Facebook or Twitter account to create a new Nintendo Account.
  • You will still be able to sign in or create a new Nintendo Account with your Google or Apple Account.
  • On the other hand, it will no longer be possible to earn My Nintendo points by associating a Facebook or Twitter account with your Nintendo account.
  • Deletion may be delayed due to technical issues.

We apologize for users accustomed to logging into their Nintendo Account with a Facebook or Twitter account for the inconvenience.

How to log in after removing this option

Once this option is removed, it will no longer be possible to use a Facebook or Twitter account to sign in to a Nintendo Account.

If you’re using a device where you’re already signed in to your Nintendo Account, you may be able to continue using your account without having to sign in again. However, if the login screen is displayed, you can:

  • Log in with your Nintendo Account email address (or login ID) and password.
    • Be sure to use your Nintendo Account password, not your Facebook or Twitter account password.
  • Sign in with your Google or Apple account.

Be sure to check out our step-by-step instructions for signing in to your Nintendo Account.

The second point of the day is more annoying since we will no longer be able to share our screenshots taken on 3DS and Wii U on these same social networks. Yes, one more less feature on top of not being able to easily buy games on theeShop of these end-of-life consoles. Again, the official website says the following:

Notice of Discontinuation of Nintendo 3DS Image Sharing and Wii U Image Sharing

As of October 25, 2022, it will no longer be possible to use Nintendo 3DS Image Sharing and Wii U Image Sharing to post images to Facebook and Twitter.

  • It will no longer be possible to share images from Nintendo 3DS systems or Wii U systems.
  • Images and comments already posted on Facebook and Twitter will remain available even after the service is discontinued.
  • It is possible that the service interruption may be postponed for technical reasons.

Thank you for using the Image Sharing service.

So you will understand, these two measures will take effect on October 25so you still have time to prepare for it. The sharing of screenshots and videos from the Switch will obviously not be impacted.
