Coalcomán, Michoacán.- Another earthquake of magnitude 5.4 is recorded in the south of Coalcoman, Michoacan; After 24 hours of the magnitude 7.7 earthquake, the tectonic plates have not stopped moving.
The National Seismological Service has reported that until 1:00 p.m. today, September 20, 2022, there have been 814 aftershocks of the magnitude 7.7 earthquake that occurred in Michoacanyesterday September 19, 2022, the largest aftershock of magnitude 5.8 occurred during the early morning in Tecoman, Colima.
Yesterday’s earthquake occurs just in commemoration of the earthquakes that also occurred on September 19, 1985 and in 2017, earthquakes in which unfortunately there were thousands of human losses.
This year, only two deaths were recorded, both in the state of Colimawhere unfortunately the victims were left under the rubble.
It is expected that today the Civil Protection Committee of the State of Michoacán manage to issue the declaration of emergency in the area of the most affected municipalities, in order to request economic resources from the federation to restore the nearly 3,000 affected homes.
